Description
The box-shaped stacking vessel is one of the traditional Japanese vessels used for annual events and ceremonies such as the New Year. Originally, lacquerware is the mainstream, but this heavy box made of porcelain has become a daily item that can be used as both tableware and storage containers. This box is in hexagonal shape featuring hand-painted turtle shell patterns as well as elements and motifs in celebratory Buddhism.
