Description
This handsome wood and stone tea tray is a masterpiece. In China, tea is commonly prepared over a tray that allows water to drain away from the surface. This is because hot water is used to warm the implements and then is discarded; also, with fermented or aged teas, hot water is used for an initial washing of the leaves and likewise discarded. This tray collects the discarded water so that you don't need to set up in close proximity to a sink with a drain. This tea tray has a slotted design that holds enough water for a traditional tea brewing session. Even if not used to hold discarded water, the tray still makes a striking and tasteful serving platform. The tray is substantial but portable, and perfect for two to four people, enough for family or friends.
